Products Import - Tab 1

For the products tab all columns MUST be entered in for each Product.

Product Code - (Column A)

Product code is used for filtering, reporting, Sales Orders and Invoices. This may be something you already have, or need to create. Keep in mind, it does appear on various documents within FlexiBake that you may provide to your customers.

Requirements:

  • All products must have a unique code
  • Product codes highlighted dark red indicates a duplicate 
  • If there is a duplicate, check the sheet to find another product with the same code, you must change one

Product Name - (Column B)

Product Name can reflect the product’s purpose, features, or branding. It is used on a wide array of reports and customer facing documents like Invoices.

Requirements:

  • All products must have a unique name
  • Product names highlighted dark red indicates a duplicate 
  • If there is a duplicate, check the sheet to find another product with the same name, you must change one

Product Category - (Column C)

Product categories are to be created at your discretion and they are used to filter: product lists, inventory adjustment/count sheets, production reports, and sales history records.

Requirements:

  • All products must have a category
  • Once a category has been used it will be available for auto-complete when entering the next product
  • You can group products into types like 'Bread', 'Pastries', or 'Cakes'. Use whatever makes sense for your products


Standard Price - (Column D)

The standard price is the price that customers receive if they do not have special pricing. For customers/groups with special pricing, price tiers can be created in the FlexiBake database once the import has been completed.

Requirements:

  • All products must have a standard price
  • Currency symbol ($) is not required
  • Whole numbers or numbers with decimals can be used, e.g. 15, 15.5, 15.51

Sell By Unit - (Column E)

The sell by unit describes how the product is sold, i.e. as an individual, pack, bottle, or pallet.

Requirements:

  • All products must have a sell by unit
  • ea stands for each - this is the unit we use for something that's sold as a single unit
  • Preferred Sell By Units that are already in FlexiBake are included in the drop down
  • You can enter custom Sell By Units by typing in the cell
  • To use a dropdown, click on the small arrow that appears in the cell when you click on it, then select from the list

Pack Size - (Column F)

In FlexiBake the pack size is used to generate production reports based on unit quantities as opposed to sell by units and indicates how many items are sold together as one unit.

Requirements:

  • All products must have a pack size
  • If the product is sold as an individual unit (ea) the pack size will typically be 1

Lead Time - (Column G)

In FlexiBake the lead time represents the amount of time it takes from placing an order for a product to when it is ready for delivery or use.

Requirements:

  • All products must have a lead time
  • Lead time will automatically be entered as 1 if any text has been entered in the product name column
  • This value can be overwritten at any time if any products have a lead time greater than 1 day
