Designate the Default Database (On Premise Installation)

Set up your FlexiBake environment by choosing the default database for all users in an on-premise installation.

Selecting the correct default database ensures that every user works in the same, live environment. This greatly reduces risk—any changes made in a non-default database will not apply to your live production data.

Warning: Working in a non-default database can lead to confusion and lost data. Always confirm you are connected to your live system.

Preparation

  • Permissions: You must have Administrator rights in FlexiBake to complete this workflow.
  • When to Use: When starting FlexiBake for the first time, or after moving to a new computer/server.

Risks and Indicators

  • Pop-up Warning: If you’re logged into a non-default database, FlexiBake will warn you immediately after login.
  • Visual Cue: The Open Windows panel on the left will turn orange to indicate that you are not in the default database.
