DSD Version 2020.006

Happy Tuesday all! We hope that your week is off to a great start so far, and maybe this DSD update will make it even better. We've got a lot of new improvements to show off, check them out below.

New Improvements

  • We added a confirmation pop-up when the Sync button is pressed to prevent accidental syncing.
  • While phones continue to get bigger as time goes on, sometimes you need a little extra space: we enlarged the buttons on all dialogue boxes through the app, and increased the space between buttons to help prevent hitting the wrong one.
  • Product Overrides functionality has been added to match FlexiBake's; if a customer has product overrides defined in FlexiBake, these will now be displayed on HTML, PDF and Zebra printouts of invoices.
  • We beefed up the End-of-Day Report Transaction Summary section to include the total value of product invoiced, the total value of credits given/stales returned, and a returned vs. invoiced percentage.
  • Logging into a route for a day that has already been completed will now be greeted with a spiffy new message letting you know the day is done and no longer available:

  • Get the full picture using the landscape view: turning the device from portrait to landscape, and presto! Unit prices for the products will be displayed.
  • We've added clearer version information to help you stay up to date:
    • The DSD Version is now included on Zebra printouts
    • You may notice an extra number in the version on the app log in screen and app bar (2020.006.8 instead of 2020.006)
    • We added client Version information to our logs
  • Improved the Additional Products screen to group products by product category and then sort them alphabetically by name within the category
  • Returns made through DSD will now use the invoice date to calculate the Effective Date of the return, rather than the system date.
  • Continue Day will now display the date of the active route so that you can make a quicker, more informed decision if you'd like to continue the active day, finish it or start a new day.
    • Continuing a previous day will also now use that date as the transaction date, rather than the system date at the time of completion. This will help keep eveything in line in the case that a route needs to be finished up retroactively.
  • We exorcised the phantom Returns column that would sometimes appear for customers who are not allowed returns, but wouldn't allow anything to be entered.
  • Get the word out: we added functionality to send emails via smtp.office365.com
  • Emails addresses are now automatically "trimmed" so that invisible trailing spaces will not interfere with invoices being emailed out.

Upcoming Improvements

Teamwork makes the dreamwork! We've added some great new features that will interact with some changes in the soon-to-be-released FlexiBake version 2020.006.

  • You asked, we listened: we've added the ability to send End of Day Reports to specific people on a "per Route" basis. 
    • When setting up your routes in FlexiBake version 2020.006, you'll be able to specify the email address(es) you would like the End-Of-Day report for this route to be sent to. Multiple emails can be entered if separated by a semi-colon (;), or if no specific email is entered the EOD report will be sent to the default address.

  • DSD will update the Route Delivery Slip records to include Additional Products delivered to help keep your inventory accurate and your records comprehensive.

Bug Fixes

  • Invoices could sometimes lose decimal places on unit prices when syncing to FlexiBake, however the invoice total would remain correct. We've picked them up
  • Action indicator icons under the sync button would sometimes get shy when payment was required on delivery. They've put on a brave face and will be there from now on.
  • Analyse returns value by product report in FB is not actually showing the $ value returned
  • EOD header for the Route is not populating the correct route when signed into multiple routes
  • We're keeping it positive in the Additional Products section; no negative quantities allowed.
  • You know the old saying about assuming; Finish Day now checks the delivery day that you're logged in for, rather than assuming it's today's date.
  • We did some work on our HTML Printing option as it was a tad obsessed with signatures when previewing invoices:
    • DSD is only bringing out the "Signature" line on the preview when a signature is required.
    • The HTML Print Preview sometimes would steal the signature from a signed invoice to put onto the next one. We've washed its sticky fingers and there will be no more stealing of signatures
  • Sometimes DSD would have trouble with large numbers in the Discount field in-app, but would print out no problem. We've made sure that everything matches from app to paper.
