Products on Order Not Appearing in Enter Production

Problem

When on the Enter Production screen, the product is not showing up on an expected day even though the product is on order. 

Cause/Solution

The product lead time is set to 0.

Update the Product lead time. 

Products with a lead time of 0 will not reflect on the Enter Production screen. For items produced on the same day as delivery, the lead time should be set as 1 and the 'assume production and delivery dates are the same' preference should be enabled.

  1. Access the Inventory Centre then click Maintain Products.
  2. Find and double click the product to open it or click on it once to select it and click Edit at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click on the Production tab of the product.
  4. In the Lead Time field enter 1.
  5. Click OK to save.
  6. On the top Menu Bar click Administration then FlexiBake Preferences.
  7. Click on the Production tab of the preferences.
  8. Check the box Assume production and delivery dates are the same.
  9. Click OK to save.

The product lead time is different than expected.

Review the product lead time and update it if required.

Products will populate on the Enter Production screen based on the Ship Date of the Sales Order minus the product Lead Time. 

  1. Access the Inventory Centre then click Maintain Products.
  2. Find and double click the product to open it or click on it once to select it and click Edit at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click on the Production tab of the product.
  4. Review the Lead Time field and update if required.
  5. If a change is made to the lead time, click OK to save.

The preference 'Assume Production and Delivery Dates are the Same' is enabled.

This system preference effectively updates product lead times to be minus 1 day. (eg. A 1 day lead time = 0 day lead time, 2 day lead time = 1 day lead time, etc.)

Disable this system preference

  1. On the top Menu Bar click Administration then FlexiBake Preferences.
  2. Click on the Production tab of the preferences.
  3. Uncheck the box Assume production and delivery dates are the same.
  4. Click OK to save.

OR If desiring to keep the preference enabled, modify product lead times

  1. Access the Inventory Centre then click Maintain Products.
  2. Find and double click the product to open it or click on it once to select it and click Edit at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click on the Production tab of the product.
  4. Review the Lead Time field and update as required. (Enter the lead times as expected + 1 day.)
  5. Click OK to save.

The product is a 'Schedule Only' item.

Uncheck the Schedule Only indicator.

Products may be indicated as Schedule Only items to ensure they are produced via Schedule Production. This will keep the product from appearing in Enter Production to ensure it is not accidentally produced via that method. 

  1. Access the Inventory Centre then click Maintain Products.
  2. Find and double click the product to open it or click on it once to select it and click Edit at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click on the Production tab of the product.
  4. Uncheck the Schedule Only box.
  5. Click OK to save.

The product is Inactive.

Uncheck the Inactive indicator.

  1. Access the Inventory Centre then click Maintain Products.
  2. At the bottom of the screen, change the View option to All or Inactive.
  3. Find and double click the product to open it or click on it once to select it and click Edit at the bottom of the screen.
  4. At the top of the window, uncheck the Inactive box.
  5. Click OK to save.

The product is produced at a different Production Facility.

Update the production facility assigned to the product.

Note at the time of creating this article that multiple production facilities with Enter Production is not a live function of FlexiBake. As such, the product production facility should be updated to the default location.

  1. Access the Inventory Centre then click Maintain Products.
  2. Find and double click the product to open it or click on it once to select it and click Edit at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click on the Production tab of the product.
  4. From the Production Facility dropdown, select the <Default> location. 
  5. Click OK to save.
