Session Logoff - Force a session to logoff

A new RDP file, to aid in fully logging out a session per user.

🔒 Managing and Resolving FlexiBake RemoteApp Session Issues

This guide provides a solution for common login issues experienced by FlexiBake users, specifically those related to stale, stuck, or hijacked user sessions within the RemoteApp environment.

Identifying and Understanding the Problem

Users may encounter various connection errors during periods of high activity or unstable connectivity, resulting in frustrating messages such as:

  • "FlexiBake is already running..."

  • The system indicating a stale or stuck session that prevents a successful reconnect.

  • A user session being unintentionally taken over by a coworker who logs in using the same credentials.

These issues often arise when a user minimizes the RemoteApp or steps away without properly logging out. When the connection is severed due to inactivity, network fluctuation, or a system timeout, the server may maintain a record of the session, even though the user has closed the application window. This lingering session prevents the user from initiating a fresh login.

Introducing the Session Logoff Feature

To proactively resolve these connectivity issues and ensure a clean logoff, we have introduced the Session Logoff feature. This utility allows you to explicitly and immediately terminate any active or lingering session tied to your user ID, thereby enabling a successful new login.

Step-by-Step Guide to Using Session Logoff

Follow these steps when you encounter any session-related login difficulty:

  1. Access the Portal: Navigate to the Cloud Portal using your preferred web browser:

                                                      cloud.flexibake.com

  2. Login: Authenticate using your designated credentials (e.g., user@company) and current cloud password.

  3. Locate the Utility: Once successfully logged in, you will see various available Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) icons.

  4. Download the Logoff File: Click on the icon labeled "Session Logoff." This action will download an RDP file (typically to your local Downloads folder).

  5. File Management (Recommended): For ease of access, we recommend moving this downloaded RDP file to a convenient location, such as your desktop, or the folder where your primary FlexiBake RDP icon is stored.

  6. Execute the Logoff: Simply double-click the downloaded "Session Logoff" file.

  7. System Action: The utility will attempt to establish a connection. Upon finding an active or stuck session associated with your user ID, it will execute a forceful closure of that session on the server.

  8. Re-establish Connection: Once the logoff is confirmed, you can proceed to log back into FlexiBake as you normally would by double-clicking your standard FlexiBake RDP icon, guaranteeing a fresh and stable working session.
