Version 2020.001
January 31st, 2020
Hello and welcome to the new year and new decade! This year's first release is a relatively big one; the devs have been hard at work adding a few more new features and improving the performance and overall functionality of existing ones.
New Improvements:
- Find a certain someone the Valentine's Day: added a find customers option in the Find window which allows you to search through all your customers with ease.
- We've added some new inventory reports! They can be found in the menu bar Reports drop-down, under Inventory, go check them out:
- Raw Material Inventory on Hand Detail Report
- Product Inventory Costs report
- Better, Faster, Stronger: we rewrote the product tracking code to improve performance where extremely large numbers of production items are scheduled on a daily basis.
- Added Customer Name and Ship From Location as available fields for display on custom delivery slips or bill of lading.
- "When a product comes along, you must ship it!": enhanced Sales Order imports to allow import of ship dates, and to apply ship date rules from preferences when importing orders.
- Corrected listbox scrolling on the Find window 'Search for Recipes and Products' tab.
- Enhanced the Web Portal Preference window to provide control of the 'Use Web Portal Product Categories' option.
- Enhanced the Export to QuickBooks routine to provide more descriptive error messages when GL accounts have not been entered.
- Added code to Edit Sales Order to ensure that category and production department are included in line items when added via the F3 function
- Your in-voices have been heard: we've improved performance for automatic invoicing when generating Route Delivery Slips.
- Balancing act: we added a utility for our support team to use when re-balancing accounts, making the process quicker and easier for all involved.
Bug Fixes
- In the words of The Beatles, "get back!" The text you write in the instructions field of a blank line will no longer show up in the Added Sugar column of your recipes.
- Let your reports be a 'font' of knowledge: Corrected a bug that was causing fonts to be altered on custom reports so that they print out nice and pretty.
- You'll no longer be able to summon phantom products in the Standing Sales Order grid when the 'display all products' option is selected
- The vertical scrollbar on the grid would run away after selecting the 'display all products' option for a second time. It's worked on its commitment issues and has decided to stick around.
- FlexiBake was trying out for an episode of "Trading Spaces": we corrected a bug in the purchase order F2 (Select Raw Material) window that was causing on hand and available quantities to be reversed.
- A recent Windows or Office update was interfering with the print recipes function, causing it to fail -we've adapted FlexiBake to prevent this interference.
- Added code to prevent multiple IA Slips from being edited simultaneously on the same workstation (i.e. by the same person), which could cause inventory to become out of balance or IA slips to be deleted accidentally.
- Packing labels would, under very specific circumstances, exclude a product from the label. They've learned that bullying is wrong, and won't do that any longer.
- No longer haunted by a Ghost Ship(ping Company): Corrected a bug that was causing phantom carrier to be printed on delivery slips even when none was selected.
- High precision is great, but too much is unnecessary. Fractional recipe quantities were being scheduled in Production with extremely large numbers of decimal places; this has now been shortened to 3.
- Corrected a labeling mistake on one of the Production windows. Label should read 'Teams' rather than 'Plants'. Our bad!
- Caught and squashed a tricky bug in the route reconciliation module that would, under very specific circumstances, result in an invoice that had no associated line items incorrectly being voided.
- Add a poem if you want: we've corrected an issue that was restricting length of production items notes after last update. We still can't guarantee that your staff will want to read it all though.
- Fortune favours the bold: we corrected an issue that was preventing allergens from being highlighted (bolded) in ingredient statements after the last update.
- It's basically time travel: we've enhanced the audit trail functionality to prevent a 'too complicated' error when many users exist, you can look back in time to see what was being done and by who.
- We noticed people often forget to hit OK, so we fixed an issue where generating an invoice after updating a Route Delivery Slip will automatically save the Slip and the invoice.
