Version 2020.003
May 1st, 2020
Happy Friday! We thought it would be fitting to welcome the new month with an equally new version of FlexiBake, chock full of new things to explore.
This update has focused mainly on two important areas of FlexiBake: accounting and nutritional information. Don't worry though, the accountants and the nutritionists among you won't be having all the fun! We're also releasing some new improvements and fixes for our Direct Store Delivery and Online Ordering Portal, because nobody should feel left out. In fact, if we had to pick a favourite feature of this release, our new DSD End-Of-Day report is definitely it.
New Improvements
- We can't make you Master of the Universe, but we can do our best to make you feel like it: we've streamlined how master and sub-accounts work throughout FlexiBake so that your accounting experience feels like a breeze.
- The Accounts tab in the customer profile has levelled up: the aging bar now tallies in the transactions done under the subsidiary accounts, as well as the ones attributed directly to the master, so you can see the status of the master account any time you like.
- Clicking on a payment or credit note in the Accounts tab takes you to the original record, even if you're looking at the sub-account and the transaction was made directly to the master account, or vice versa. This will keep things easy to follow, and preserve the integrity of your master accounts.
- Sub-account payments were acting shy on some consolidated statement styles if fully applied. They've gotten a confidence boost and are taking their proper place in the master account statement.
- We also spiffied up FlexiBake's AR features while we were in there, because who doesn't love a good reno?
- Improved consistency in aging: unapplied payments and credit notes will remain in "Current" wherever you are in FlexiBake, allowing you to more easily compare the balances in Manage Receivables to a statement or the customer's Account tab.
- We fixed up how the From, To and Statement Dates affect what transactions show up on the statement so that it's more intuitive. For a full breakdown of the standard statement styles offered in FlexiBake, check out this article: Which Statement Style Is Best for Me?
- We've added payment numbers to Maintain Payments to make it easier to find the record you're looking for. These numbers also appear on the print preview of the payment, on customer statements, in the customer's Account tab and in our Find tool, so you can find what you're looking for no matter where you look.
- Just because you're sweet: Added Sugars are now an available field in the Detailed Nutrient Values window, and on the Nutritional Analysis report.
- To our Aussie and Kiwi friends, we've put some TLC into the Australia New Zealand Nutrition Information Panels to improve how they obey the rounding rules set out by FSANZ, regardless of if you're using stored or calculated nutritional information for your products.
- Fellow Canadians, we've added 2 new nutritional panel styles: the Bilingual Simplified Standard format and the smallest Standard Bilingual format (panels 6.6(B) and 3.7(B) if you're curious). More to come in future updates!
- Meet the new Canadian Nutrition Label report: the same report you know and love has been given a makeover! The nutritional panel style has been updated to match the new CFIA nutritional panel formatting going into effect January 2020 to January 2021.
- Seeing is believing, after all. Preview images for the new FDA and CFIA nutritional panel styles have been included in this update, so you can see how those panels will look when building a label in our integrated label designer. Bring out your inner artist!
- We replaced some expired links to the Australia, New Zealand and USA regulatory organizations for nutrition and labelling. You can find them in the Detailed Nutrient Values screen, in case you'd like to learn more about nutritional labelling regulations in your region or potential target regions.
- Feel refreshed as the Analysis Centre Sales, Revenue and Year Ago values demo their improved refresh ability, so that you can see the effects of your changes sooner.
- We heard that you like reports, so we added a new one: the Print button in Schedule Production still prints out the contents of your production calendar, but in a brand-new format that's clearer and easier to read.
- If you import sales orders from a CSV file and use our Route Deliveries, we have great news! FlexiBake will now assign those sales orders to the customer's default route on import, saving you an extra step.
Bug Fixes
- We taught the Sales Order Written reports to consider sales order discounts when they tally everything up.
- Nutritional info wasn't refreshing when using the Next button to move between recipes. We've fixed this up so that it's easier for you to compare or to look for something in particular.
- The Non-Aged statement style would sometimes swap a couple invoices out of chronological order. We gave it a nice new calendar, and now your non-aged statements will have perfect transaction sorting by date.
DSD
- We've added version information to the DSD to help you know you're up-to-date, and so you can check back on these handy-dandy, super informational release notes to see what's new and fixed!
- On today's episode of Extreme Makeover: FlexiBake Edition: the DSD's End Of Day report. We've completely revamped this report to give you a detailed but concise overview of the day's activities:
- You can now see a breakdown of your fresh and stale returns in the Inventory Summary, so you know how many of each product is coming back to the facility.
- The Invoice Summary allows you to see which deliveries were completed, invoices signed and payment received.
- Payments are broken down by type in the Transactions summary, so you know what and how much you need to collect from your drivers when they return.
- We also took the opportunity to squash a couple bugs:
- Print to PDF wasn't playing nice with certain models of Android devices, so we've updated the backend to be more friendly and less judgmental. PDF printing will be breeze from now on, regardless of which Android device you're on.
- Using the HTML print option was causing the DSD to hang, so we found were it was getting stuck and fixed it up.
- We replaced a couple icons to keep the DSD feeling pretty!
- Sometimes a missing plug-in message would pop up on login. We found it between the couch cushions and put it back where it belongs, so you won't see that anymore!
- A playful haunting: Under certain circumstances, a little "1" icon would show a phantom End-Of-Day report waiting to sync, but this would disappear when you opened the drop-down. We've banished this ghost in the machine, so you'll only see that icon when there's a report waiting to sync.
Online Ordering Portal
- Confused why your changes to an order didn't go through on the online ordering portal? We've added error messages to let you know if the order has been closed, voided, or wasn't found.
