Group Ingredients with Sugars

The long awaited CFIA panels are being rolled out with Version 2019.009. To comply with the new regulations, there are a few new things to bear in mind when creating your labels.

First of all, if you have not updated your nutrient data and R.D.I. values, we highly recommend that you do so. Instructions are available in our article How to Utilize the New FDA Labels and Update Nutrient Data.

While this is technically not a part of the new Nutrition Facts tables, the CFIA now requires that sugars-based ingredients  appear in the ingredients statements grouped under the name "sugars". Please check with the CFIA to ensure that your ingredients statements are in accordance with the new regulations.

FlexiBake can manage this grouping for you, you'll just need to enable the setting on the raw material in question. This can be done with the following steps:

  1. In the Inventory Centre, click on Maintain Raw Materials

  2. Select you raw material and either double click on it, or click on it once and then click the Edit button to open it.
